The Random 25

I'm not so fond of blogging stuff like these, but since an awesome friend draggedtagged me into this, okay fine I'll cooperate. Just forgive my boring randomness. So here goes.

Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note, with 25 list of anything random about you. It can be a fact, a habit, a goal, or just anything else under the sun. Next, tag 5 people you want to know more, plus the person who tagged you. Game? Here goes mine..

one I'd die for a cup of coffee on a desert

two I hate dogs or any hairy animal
three I hit my head on hard cement and made myself bleed so much in an accident once
four four is my favorite number, though it means death in chinese
five I wanna do bungee jumping someday
six I can sit in front of my laptop whole day just doing graphics
seven I'm not so fond of shoes and bags, I spend more on clothes
eight Over half of my wardrobes are bought from thrift stores (ukay ukay)
nine I have five awesome siblings
ten I love reading about Hitler, or any oppression related shenanigans
eleven Some random days, I find it hard to smile
twelve I could live three days without drinking water
thirteen I hate the number thirteen
fourteen I was fourteen when I had my first kiss
fifteen I think most, if not all, of the ills of this world would come to an end if only people learned how to shut up and do their own thing
sixteen I am a huge overthinker
seventeen I enjoy rainy days the most
eighteen I was born to be inlove with John Krasinski for the rest of my life
nineteen I enjoy sad songs more
twenty My biggest dream is to be able to direct or write a movie
twentyone I want the world to end with a Zombie Apocalypse

twentytwo was my Mom's age when she first got pregnant

twentythree Movies are my number one lifetime pursuits

twentyfour I love everything Indie!
twentyfive is the age I wanna marry and get pregnant with my first baby

So there you go, my random twenty five. I wanna get back, so now I'm definitely tagging Shy, Michelle,  Gilbert, Valerie, and Athena! I hope you post yours. Oh and  don't forget to tag me once you've done it! I'd definitely want to read. Thank you to the awesome Joanne for tagging me.

PS. We're currently moderating your entries for the Winter Wonderland Giveaway! The name of the lucky winner will be announced on or before the end of 2012. Stay tuned!

In the mean time I'm currently joining this awesome giveaway by Jen. I definitely wanna win that domain spot. You can join by going here. She has awesome prizes in store for the lucky winner!

Sunbaked holiday on the way.

Caution: Image-and-blab-heavy post ahead. Images belong to Mimi, Joanne, and Thatha. Some of which I took myself.

Once upon a boring class, I was sitting on my cramped-class-notes-and-doodle-swarmed armchair. I was nibbling off my already cracked lips, trying to figure out who to team up with for our holiday assignment on one of our production classes. We were to produce a travelogue film over the Holiday; the objective being, to successfully record high quality and crisp audio despite our lack of resources. We were to find a way to get rid of unwanted background noises on our production.

A travelogue. So I thought, to save up some time, and effort (and cash), I should definitely ask people from the same town I come from. Then I asked Mimi, who was sitting two seats away from me that day.

Next thing I know, I’m on a motor boat ride to Boracay Island, itching to get off and feel fine white sand under my feet.

It’s amazing really, how the least expected travels turn out to be one of the most memorable ones.

So I came with three gorgeous friends, (L-R) Thatha, Mimi and my oh so awesome blogger buddy Joanne, and I can’t even begin to fathom all the fun we had during the four-day adventure. The only thing missing, really – and I stress that it is one important consideration when you’re travelling – was a photographer. Lol we had to set the camera on timer whenever we wanted a picture together. The result? Too many fail bangag photos I won’t dare post here lol.

The whole trip began with a bus ride from Miagao of course. Despite some serious hangover from the previous night (We had some serious partying because the previous night was Lantern Parade, an annual Chirstmas Celebration in our school where academic organizations parade hand held and giant lanterns and students get drunk and party before the holiday break), we left really early the next morning cause we figured we shouldn't waste any time.

Some serious hours of bus rides came next, and we had to do stop-overs to get some lunch and leave our baggages at Thatha’s house, their neighborhood (Pandan, Antique) giving me nostalgia as it reminded me so much of my hometown in Samar

We arrived at the island at around 5PM, and good heavens look what we caught the exact moment we stepped into the shore.

All hail Boracay burning sunset. It was too perfect I can’t help but take photos of it while we were looking for the perfect location for our first scene. Then I started surveying the place in attempt to find some cute guys and I’m like what the heck is this place? It’s like a whole other planet. I don’t see any Filipinos anywhere. I swear it’s infested with so many foreigners it barely looks like the Philippines.

So anyway, after some location searching, we took a really short dip. I guess we just wanted to get acquainted with the waters first before fully immersing ourselves into it lol. Then we went back to the dormitory we were staying at for dinner, went out again and did some partying.

First we went to drink a few at a saloon located just a few feet away from the waters. We were sitting on the shore while listening to live reggae songs being played by a live reggae band which had the awesomest organ player ever. That’s him on the pic, the only one in the band with a short, un-braided hair. Then we went club searching, settled for a club named Club Paraw, had a few more drinks, danced crazy, and got wasted.

We got back at the dormitory at 2AM, woke up at 8AM, and again, despite the hangover, did the rest of our shooting for our travelogue. After shooting we went looking for a perfect spot for sun bathing. I badly wanted to get tanned, but they didn’t so we just settled for the shade instead. Then we took some more photos and did a lot of cam whoring on the shore.

We travelled back to Thatha’s place where we’re supposed to spend the rest of our days. The very next day we went for some adventurous “hiking” to Malumpati Cold Spring.

Originally, I was gonna take a dip. But then I went closer and saw tiny fishes swimming! You know how much I get scared with moving little slimy creatures. I get scared I might step on them and squish them with my evil big feet. The thought alone sickens me ugh. I surveyed the whole place instead and later on decided to play volleyball. But it got so hot and I started sweating so I ended up taking a dip anyway. It was so cold at first but it got better as we stayed underwater for some time. It felt good, plus, I didn’t step on the tiny fishes yayy!

All in all, it was superb, really. Not having to worry about anything else but trying to find joy amongst the littlest things and enjoy it. Like when we start laughing so hard at our fail bangag photos at the end of each day.

Surprisingly, these are people I don’t get to hang out with much in school. I mean, they are my classmates and we are pretty close. But besides class and some other extra-curricular activities, nothing really binds me to this group. But now we have this experience together and I can say it’s really something worth spazzing about someday in class.

Remembered December

My December’s been good so far. Ecstatic, even. I wake up everyday with a grin on my face and I just can’t help but think about how beautiful life is. A little exaggerated okay, but bottomline is, I’m happy. Or maybe, it’s just because I’m such in a good mood while I’m typing this. I bet tomorrow will be different.

But I don’t wanna talk about tomorrow. I wanna talk about all the good things that’s happened lately. For one, this announcement may be a little late, but yes, as you can see, I’ve changed my layout into something so much simpler. I just love every bit of it right now. I don’t know why but I keep loving dull colors lately. Seaweed green just keeps making my day.

Also, I can’t stress enough about how thankful I am for all the support our Winter Wonderland Giveaway’s been getting. Thank you so much for all the positive comments. To those who have not joined yet, you still have four days, so go on and join already before it ends on Christmas Day!

So much has happened since my last post and It makes me sad that my being busy (and being a sloth) keeps getting on my way to blogging about all these beautiful happenings and whatnots. I keep disappointing myself. Whenever I start drafting a blogpost, I end up with a crappy, good-for-nothing entry, so I just dismiss the attempt and think of another way to keep myself from getting bored.

But the next few days will be different (I guess). Cause Holidays’re coming, and oh you know what that means. Everyday surfing the net and eating and sleeping plus hanging out. So I’ll have more time infront of my laptop, which means more time to blog about the things I was supposed to blog decades ago.

So here’s to more image-heavy, blab-heavy, rant-heavy posts that’re coming to haunt your monitors soon! Oh and before I forget, Happy Holidays, everyone! Don’t get too fat!

Like Waterways

Like Waterways
April Asuncion

I listen to the waves;
A song playing in replay

I hear your voice
in tamed dismay;
I listen to the waterways.
Like waterways
Your eyes give me
a calm embrace;
I've never ever felt before;
A beautiful ma's allure.
Like waterways
I drift into vast outer space
I think of you like waterways
I know it is not there to stay;
I listen to it anyway.

So here it is. The poem plus some of the photos I took while at the beach. It was such a unexpected day. I can't stress enough about the fact that I am surrounded with such amazing people who make everyday worth every risk. To tell you the truth, I've never ever felt so happy with school and friends like this. I'm just enjoying every bit of my semester. Not to mention my slowly activating crushing life lately. I feel so infinite these days.

I was scheduled to post this weeks ago. But Google's been a huge mess lately. I couldn't seem to post anything, so this came out late. I might post more in the next days. I've been busy with school, but ultimately, I've been reading your comments and tags. And I want to thank everybody who liked the giveaway! I can't thank you enough for the lovely comments about it. I just love you guys!

Winter Wonderland Giveaway

Here it is! Here it is! My very first Blog Giveaway! And I'm doing it with my dear friend Joanne who is at the same time my one and only refuge these days when it comes to blogging shenanigans.

We have a lot of pretty stuff in store for the lucky winner. To start off, there's this awesome red polka sweats I found on the thrift store. It has this pretty laced pattern at the back. It's a very rare find and it's very pretty so I decided I should include it here. Next, there's Joanne's awesome sweats pick too! It's a really pretty knitted ecru sweatshirt that feels really warm. The Like a Sir necklace is really hip, Joanne got it from an accessory shop here in Iloilo. Then, there's this online shop called Chuvachu OnlineShoppe, owned by Joanne herself with two more of our friends; they sell really cute stuff like bracelets, cellphone accessories, notepads and a lot more! They are sponsoring two more of the items.

This giveaway is open only to bloggers from the Philippines. It begins November 18, 2012 and ends on Christmas day! December 25, 2012. This is in celebration of my recent come back here in blogger, plus Joanne's relinking her blog.

Make sure to follow the steps we put up on Rafflecopter (below). There's no way anyone can cheat, we will double check everything so that it will be fair to those who really followed.

Additional points will be given to those who will put up the promo banner on their blogs.

Busy bee.

I've been so busy with school and other stuff lately. I can't imagine the next few days or weeks lol. Today I went to the beach with some friends. It was a spontaneous decision. They all took a dip except me cause I was wearing a pair of jeans lol. So I just sat on the shore and took some great photos, plus wrote a poem whilst listening to my most adored sound on earth! Crashing waaaavees! Achhhk. I swear this sound makes me go crazy. I feel like drifting into space everytime I hear waves. I'll post the photos plus the poem soon!

In the mean time, here's a photo of my pretty room ceiling here in the dormitory. Just cause even despite the busy schedule, I keep sleeping. Lol I missed one class yesterday because of sleeping (out of headache) FML.

We (roommates and I) did the Sweet Dreams lettering together during our Do Day last semester. It is an annual dormitory activity where everybody has to clean their rooms (plus the lobbies). Ahhh good times

That's all for now, au revoir!

All the good things.

So I’m finally back in blogging, but I’m also back in the mountains for school. Second semester is here and I’m not even sure I’m ready for it, but it’s still there, waiting for me with a sinister look on its face.

Look at him standing so mightily under the sun. Naked. I had to bear with this sight for three freaking hours while I was lining up for the cash office. Gaah you can just imagine.

But I finally got over the usual painstaking UP enrollment. This is my third year; sixth semester to be more exact but no, things aren’t getting any easier here. Everybody still has to climb (literally) mountains and line up for everything: paying, signing, heck they make you line up for printing form 5s! It’s lines lines lines everywhere! I wish there was an official UP twitter enrollment service that would update us on how the lines are going in diff offices. And the tweets would be like “The line in the Cash Office is finally subsiding. This is the perfect time to go and line up” or “The Humanities Division is now open. Better get your Temp Form 5 signed up by your adviser now!” Lol that would just be… plain awesome and brilliant.

I got bored in the line so I took pictures of my favorite leather slip-ons and my cute drawstring sling leather bag. I got it from the thrift store mom and I went to to go shopping the other day. I especially love the details towards the bottom!

So I finally got to leave home… and all the other good things I have access to when I'm at it.

Huhuhu. Goodbye awesome home food, hello crummy meals. Goodbye unlimited sleep, hello no sleep. Goodbye fast home internet connection, hello crappy dormitory wifi. Goodbye home. Goodbye home. Goodbye cookie the awesomest dog (though i hate dogs).

If there’s one thing I think I really love about going back here I guess it’s that I’m saying hi again to some friends, and awesome schoolworks. My semester is packed with awesome subjects and teachers I just can’t wait to start it! So yes, I guess I am ready.

Oh oh oh and.. It was my favorite little sister’s birthday yesterday. She just turned nine. I love her so much it’s sad I couldn’t celebrate her day with her. This is one of the reasons I hate being away, I miss a lot of family occassions it sucks.

Happy Birthday Alecx! <3 Isn't she just too cute?

About me

The Blogger

Hi there. People call me by my birthmonth. It's pretty exciting really, my name. It's very deep, don't you think? Has so much meaning in it. Obviously, I love it so much. I am half teenager and half robot. I work like a pressure cooker. Some of my friends love that about me, most just don't really care. They love me anyway. Some days, I'm totally rad, most I just like to be normal. I wear blinders when I want to focus on something, which means I'm like leave me the frck alone I'm busy. I think that's rude, so I absolutely make sure to find time for some fun. I love burgers and quiet walks on shores. I have also recently discovered a love for cooking. Non-mainstream media is my jam.

I always find a beautiful kind of solitude in writing. It helps me think and rethink more often. This blog is intended for the thoughts I am sometimes too frightened, too brave, too arrogant, or too humble to speak. I like wallowing in my dangerous and sometimes mundane thoughts. This blog is intended for them, too. Also, some movie, music, and book reviews will be made from time to time. Oh and yes, the blog name is a fail pun attempt on my name and the word simplicity.
